This is Hagg Gill Pot in Langstrothdale in Yorkshire.
The cave is ‘wild’ – not a show cave – and although a trip to the far reaches is quite hard the end chambers are very well decorated with hundreds of amazing straw stalactites, some are 8 or 9 ft long.
These straws are hollow and made of calcite – and are very very fragile. They are thousands of years old and exceptionally beautiful.
It is a total privilege to see them.
