I had been to Langstrothdale Chase a couple of days ago trying to find a cave that I had spent some time previously digging out.
The entrance was very small and was under a small limestone protrusion, we spent many months digging the mud out of it in the hope that it would go somewhere, but eventually we gave up on it as we only got in a few dozen yards and the mud was very clingy and heavy.
Anyway, the entrance must have collapsed since then and there wasn’t much point in pursuing it further, so I packed up and drove home.
The light and clouds were beautiful and I took these shots on the journey home. This is why I love the Dales.
