We all know that autumn is here with it’s changeable weather and dark nights, and the leaves are turning beautiful colours and falling slowly to the ground.
But it isn’t just the leaves which are turning, the bracken and the grasses on the high moors are turning too – in some ways just as beautiful as the leaves.
I was walking on the moors on Saturday morning – between the rain – and they were at their best. There is just something very special about trudging through waist high bracken on the open moors with the beautiful colours all around you and the coolness of the air fresh on your skin.
And then back home for a cup of tea and some English ginger parkin.
