These dry stone walls stretch for miles and miles, up the mountains and down the valleys…and most are hundreds of years old. The are synonymous with the Yorkshire Dales.

This wall is half way up Buckden Pike mountain and the view is towards Upper Wharfedale.

This day I followed the wall for about 10 miles or so, then had my lunch and walked back a different way – If you click the photo you can see the wall winding away into the far distance.

And I don’t think I saw a soul all day…
