I love these country lanes – and there are an awful lot of them where I live. They can wind for miles and miles through jaw dropping scenery – often single track with occasional passing places – but you rarely ever meet anyone on them anyway.

I spend a lot of my time driving along them, exploring and seeing where they go. It is OK looking on a map or sat nav – but you can’t beat getting in a car and following them through some superb scenery – especially with a bag of cameras and lenses on the back seat, and a good pair of walking boots in case you see somewhere you have to investigate.
