I was driving over the moor road coming back down into the little market town where I live, and to my right I was watching the sun setting across the high moors in the distance.

I stopped the car in a layby, put on a 300mm Nikkor lens, and got this shot looking over Blubberhouses moor towards Beamsley Beacon – the pimple on the top of the hill –  which incidently is believed to be a Bronze Age funery cairn.

The moors are beautiful, but at sunset they have that air of mystery that just makes them that little bit more special.
